Nabil Shaban has played a wide variety of roles, ranging from Jesus Christ in Godspell, Ayatollah Khomeini in Iranian Nights, Hamlet and, of course, Sil in Doctor Who in the 1980s. He is also a writer, artist and film-maker, with plays such as I am the Walrus and The First to Go… and films The Alien who lived in the Sheds
to Crip Triptych and Morticia to his credit. In the last few years he has published Dreams My Father Sold Me, an anthology of his poetry, artwork and a novel, The Ripper Code. Nabil was also nominated best actor in Scottish Theatre in
2005 and was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award from DaDaFest in 2008.
